In March 2022 Jiazazhi released 214’s newest book and some of the copies got caught up in the infamous Shanghai lockdown. We recently had the book documented by our friend Zheng Andong and also finally got a few copies out here in Montreal.

Jiazazhi writes: Guizhou (province), with its endless mountains and rivers, seems to bring surprises at any moment. 214, who lives there, often walks around with his camera. Sometimes he treats photography as a game to resist boredom, and more often he just waits for a “calling”.

We find in this book this fascination for the smaller living things to whom 214 gives a peculiar care. This area of China certainly is massive and magnificent but is not often observed and photographed on a more micro level.
